FAQ for 2015 CSA Members
Questions and answers for our 2015 CSA season. This page will be updated regularly with answers to your questions. (Last updated 4/20/2015).
Q: When does the CSA season start?
A: This answer depends in part on whether you subscribed to a single season or to a Full 25-week CSA. Those who have subscribed to either the Full 25-week CSA or to the Spring (8- week) CSA will begin receiving their CSA shares on May 17th. For those subscribed to Summer or Fall share, you will start receiving shares 8 weeks (Summer) or 16 weeks (Fall) after the CSA commences. We will also update you when we have firm timing on the beginning of the CSA.
Q: How does pick-up work?
A: Unless you paid separately for delivery or are a member of our Cheverly group delivery, you will be responsible for picking up your shares each Sunday been 3 pm and 56pm. Shares will be available for pick-up at 433 Quincy Street NW in the Petworth neighborhood of DC. Ross or Leah (or both) will be there to hand you your share personally, chat with you, and maybe even share an ice cold beverage! For your first week of pickup, you will be provided a reusable bag to carry home your veggies. You will be responsible for bringing the bag back each week.
Q: What happens if I don't pick up my share?
A: Please try to let us know if you will be unable to pick up your share ahead of time by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are unable to pick up your share (or if you have not picked up your share by 6 pm on Sunday), we will donate your share to the DC Central Kitchen. If there are extenuating circumstance (we understand, life happens) just shoot us an email and let us know what we can do. For example, if you will be late, just let us know and we will leave your box on the porch of 433 Quincy.
Q: Will you have events where I can meet you and other CSA members?
A: Absolutely! We plan to have several other formal and informal get togethers throughout the season. Folks coming to pick up their shares on Sundays are encouraged to stay a while and socialize!
Q: Can we come to the Farm?
A: Yup! Send us an email (email@example.com) and let us know when you would like to come out. We would love to show you where your food is grown.
